Tong Chin Sye

Tong Chin Sye (b. 1939, Singapore – d. 2025,
Singapore) was a second-generation multi-media
artist well-versed in watercolour, oil, mixed media,
and Chinese ink. Trained in both Western and
Chinese art, his oeuvre reflects the rich traditions
of various cultures and ethnicities through the
lens of an inquisitive globetrotter. Tong won first
prize in the Port of Singapore Authority Open Art
Competition in 1987 and represented Singapore
at the Flemish Watercolour Days in Zaventen,
Belgium, in 1988.
