Tan Ai Ngin (1972–2013) was a Singaporean artist known for her oil paintings capturing the nostalgic charm of old Singaporean neighbourhoods, such as Tiong Bahru and Kampong Bahru. A graduate of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and School of Fine and Performing Arts Constantijn Huygens in Holland, Tan was known for her plein-air style and vibrant, short-stroked scenes. The soft brushstrokes and muted colours of this painting create a tranquil, reflective atmosphere with the bridge mirrored gently on the calm waters.
