Simon Wee was born in Singapore, 1946. Wee would further develop his creative abilities after graduating from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in 1967, having studied under Chen Wen Hsi, the well-known first-generation Master Painter. He created his own unique style throughout the years after studying and practicing a number of painting forms and techniques. His style is most identifiable by a single, fluid calligraphic stroke in the middle of a solid, empty area.
