Artist Statement:

This painting is dedicated to the unseen caregivers of the sandwich generation, the individuals who quietly hold families together while carrying the weight of raising children, supporting ageing parents, maintaining careers, and giving endlessly of themselves.

Caregiving is often invisible. It happens behind closed doors, in the early mornings, late nights, between meetings, hospital visits, school runs, and countless moments that rarely receive recognition. Their work is expected, but seldom acknowledged.

The stones represent these unseen burdens. Within them are fragments of everyday life, moments of exhaustion, sacrifice, responsibility, and resilience that caregivers silently carry. Each stone tells a story that is often overlooked by the world.

Behind these burdens, flowers bloom. They symbolize hope, strength, compassion, and the extraordinary beauty that grows from unwavering love. The flowers are not meant to erase the struggles, but to remind us that even in life’s heaviest seasons, caregivers continue to nurture life around them. Their resilience allows others to flourish.

Through this painting, I hope to make the invisible visible.

I would like people to pause and recognise the countless acts of care that often go unnoticed. This is a tribute to those whose strength is quiet, whose sacrifices are rarely celebrated, and whose love is expressed not through grand gestures, but through showing up every single day.

To every caregiver who has ever felt unseen: this painting is for you. May you know that your burdens are acknowledged, your resilience is admired, and your story deserves to be seen.


慈善艺展 - 携手支持总统挑战 2026
TOGETHER - Art Exhibition in support of the President’s Challenge 2026

This is the third edition of the largest fund-raising exhibition by Singaporean artists for beneficiaries supported by the President's Challenge (PC). President's Challenge 2026 will support 121 programmes across 60 organisations to drive sustained social upliftment in Singapore.

50% of all sales proceeds will be donated to the President's Challenge; tax deductions will be available where applicable. Donors will be invited to the "Donor Appreciation Ceremony" to receive a certificate of appreciation from the Guest-of-Honour.
