Milenko Prvački (b. 1951, Yugoslavia) immigrated to Singapore over 30 years ago and has since established himself as a pivotal figure in shaping the local visual arts scene through arts education. His ongoing autobiographical series, Abstraction for Beginners, enquires into abstraction in painting as a formal visual lexicon comprising various geometric elements, brushstrokes, and colours. Prvački is the 2012 Cultural Medallion recipient, and his work has been exhibited and collected internationally.
