Artist Statement: JOAQUIM™ is a contemporary art creation inspired by Singapore's national flower, the Vanda Miss Joaquim. More than a flower, it is a symbol of protection, resilience, hope, and inner peace. The artwork emerged from my personal journey through loss, grief, and healing. After the passing of my mother in 2011 and later the loss of three siblings between 2022 and 2024, I began reflecting deeply on life, purpose, and emotional well-being.

During my years working as a teacher and therapy assistant, I met many people facing loneliness, uncertainty, and emotional struggles. These experiences inspired me to create JOAQUIM™ as a gentle reminder that we are never truly alone.

Its form resembles a protective cocoon, sheltering a hidden angel at its center. This subtle angel symbolizes comfort, love, guidance, and reassurance. Through JOAQUIM™, I hope to offer viewers a quiet refuge and a message: "You are protected."

TOGETHER - Art Exhibition in support of the President’s Challenge 2026

This is the third edition of the largest fund-raising exhibition by Singaporean artists for beneficiaries supported by the President's Challenge (PC). President's Challenge 2026 will support 121 programmes across 60 organisations to drive sustained social upliftment in Singapore.

50% of all sales proceeds will be donated to the President's Challenge; tax deductions will be available where applicable. Donors will be invited to the "Donor Appreciation Ceremony" to receive a certificate of appreciation from the Guest-of-Honour.
