This is an earlier work by Koeh Sia Yong, a second generation Singaporean artist. Koeh paints mainly in oil medium, with a personal fusion style of impressionism and expressionism. Using western painting techniques, Koeh follows the Nanyang style of painting pioneered by migrant Chinese artists in Singapore. Koeh's Balinese themed works mostly feature natural landscapes, performance scenes and Balinese women.
