Inspired by memories of growing up in a Peranakan enclave, this painting reflects the artist’s deep admiration for the beauty and richness of Peranakan culture. The blue kebaya, sarong, and jewellery depicted are personal belongings of the artist, arranged alongside meaningful keepsakes within an intimate domestic setting.

The work also pays tribute to Georgette Chen, a longtime artistic inspiration, with a subtle glimpse of the artist painting alongside her muse — bridging memory, heritage, and artistic legacy.

Singaporean artist Jasmin Maniam is a member of several art societies including the Singapore Watercolour Society.

TOGETHER - Art Exbition in support of the President’s Challenge 2026

This is the third edition of the largest fund-raising exhibition by Singaporean artists for beneficiaries supported by the President's Challenge. President's Challenge 2026 will support 121 programmes across 60 organisations, as part of a broader push to drive sustained social upliftment in Singapore.

50% of sales proceeds will be donated to the President's Challenge. Tax deductions will be available where applicable.

Donors will be invited to the "Donor Appreciation Ceremony" on 2 Aug to receive a certificate of appreciation from the Guest-of-Honour, Ms Jane Ittogi.
