In this atmospheric painting of lotus flowers and lotus leaves, the artist has incorporated Chinese ink techniques by leaving white spaces for the petals and the pond. If you observe closely, the white petals are not painted, but intentionally left unpainted.
Goh Khie Ching (吴启振) is a Singaporean watercolour artist known for his plein-air paintings and dedication to the medium, often capturing local landscapes and, notably, lotus flowers.
